My Bio

Priscila Salazar, born on December 25th, 1994, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, is a Fine Artist and Art Teacher with a deep passion for exploring the physical and emotional forms of expression through her work. Salazar completed her bachelor’s degree in Fine arts, with a specialization in sculpture, at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (2013-2017).

During her studies, she was awarded the Scholarship of Excellence (2014) and earned second place in the university’s annual portrait contest (2015). Her work has been featured in several collective exhibitions, including “Guides and Roots” at the José Luis Cuevas Gallery (2014, 2016), “Test of Author” at the University Cultural Center of Mazatlán (2015), “The Hall of Life and Death” at the Art Museum of Sinaloa (2015), and “Corpus Libris” at the Young Art Room in collaboration with the Sinaloa Institute of Culture (2016).

Salazar has enriched her artistic perspective through workshops such as “Drawing with the Double Brain” led by Jerome Uribe Clarín, “Visual Experimentation in Sculpture” by Ignacio Granados Valdéz, and “Memory and Identity through Art” taught by Idaid Rodríguez. These experiences have further deepened her interest in the intersection of memory, identity, and artistic expression.

Since moving to Canada in 2018, Priscila has embarked on a journey of rediscovery, reconnecting with her creative roots while continuing to evolve her artistic voice. Her work delves into the delicate strength and fragile sensuality of the feminine figure, exploring rich symbolism that reflects both personal and universal experiences. She currently has a studio in New Westminster and offers classes to private students.
